| Description | The use of the verb adiuro in antiquity is attested on about dozen curse tablets, all found in Cartage and Hadrumetum. Normally the formula goes like this: adiuro te/vos … per … ut/ne. Implored are usually one or more daemons, who are compelled by a higher divine entity to harm the target of the curse. |
