Description The chapter deals with literary treatment of the character and story of Medea in the Old Bohemian version of Trojan Chronicles, a piece of medieval reading popular in many other Europena countries, e.g. England, Germany, Italy and France. The Old Bohemian version was compared to its Latin model, Historia destructionis Troiae, written by Quido de Columnis in 1278. The main distinctive featires of the Old Bohemian version are claimed to be simplification of the mythological narrative and the scientific information given in the pretext, as well as reduction of explicit eroticism.
