Description The article is concerned with the short-story "Roman malen´koj zhenshchiny" by M. P. Artsybashev. The text explores in which extend the protagonist Elena Nikolaevna behaves according to her will and in which extend she is influenced by an old model of life in which every kind of bodily needs in the sphere of love is "dirty". Led by this unproductive model the protagonist falls in love with the writer whom she takes for an ideal partner. He, on the other hand, takes her only for an easy game girl suitable for a short time pleasure.
