Description How did Pardubice look like between the wars and possibly at the beginning of the 20th century or in its half? A number of paintings in the collections of the East Bohemian Gallery correspond to this question. However, some of them have not been publicly presented for decades. As informal part of the exhibition project "Fragile Dreams of Modernity. Pardubice and Czechoslovakia in the Mirror of Fine Arts 1918-1938" we have prepared a representative selection of this rich collection in House of Jonah. Views of the picturesque corners of Pernstynske Square, the Old Town, the Castle, the Kunětice Mountains, the Landscape near the Labe river: All this seen by the eyes and by the paintbrushs of here historicly living artists. This view could be perceived either as a documentary reflection on the contemporary perception of the city's living space or maybe also as a autumnal nostalgic look back.
