| Description | The book contains a Latin translation of popular Czech book of poetry Kytice (The Bouquet) by K. J. Erben. The translation, made by a classicist, translator and spoken Latin supporter Jan Šprincl from Brno, is presented in a Latin-Czech bilingual edition and illustrated by drawings by Jiří Farský. The text itself is supplemented by an essay concerning The Erben's Bouquet and its importance for the Czech literature. The life and works of Jan Šprincl and the prosody used by him in his translations are discussed then. |
