| Description | The purpose of this paper is to explore lives of girls and young women in a Moravian village in the eighteenth century. The research is based on various primary sources, such as registers of inhabitants and orphans, birth registers and prenuptial agreements. Different aspects of youth in the early modern age are examined: service, mobility and migration, begging and wandering, premarital pregnancy and entering into marriage. The author also discusses various factors which influenced the future of young women. |
