| Description | Despite frequent nostalgic reminiscences and their immense popularity, there is still a lot to learn about stars of the so-called First republic and Protectorate era. Drawing on the star personas of Oldřich Nový and Jiřina Štěpničková, this lecture will emphasise the necessity of stardom for various cultural industries (theatre, cinema, recording industry) and introduce new facts concerning their postwar careers. |
