Description So called reservoir affect is specific phenomenon that could influence the radiocarbon dating results, or rather move the result even several hundred years into the past. Though the reservoir effect is quite well known phenomenon it is often neglected by researchers which leads to erroneous interpretation of data. There are numerous correction curves to eliminate the impact of the reservoir effect but it is also advisable to verify the results of C14 dating via repeated measurements or other methods depending on the character of the analyzed material.
