| Description | L. W. Rochowanski (1885 Zuckmantel – 1961 Vienna) was active in at least four seemingly disparate areas: as editor and author of dialect literature, as a ‘programmatic thinker’ of avant-garde theater and dancing, as an expressionist writer and as a mediator and propagator of applied Austrian art. On the one hand, the article sheds light on the expressionist avant-garde position of Rochowanski in the theater business and in his writing. On the other hand, it shows that Rochowanski's seemingly disparate artistic activities have a common root in anthroposophically based concepts of men and art. |
