Description File-making is a historical handicraft that focussed on handcrafted files and rasps. In a specific way, file manufacturing influenced the life in the today´s village of Křižánky at that time, as it provided a wide social stratum with an opportunity of earning their living, and it became a significant economic and social phenomenon. The conducted research and the subsequent analysis showed that the roots of the prosperity of local specialized productions must be searched in a wider context. This is the reason why this publication introduces the handicraft of file-making from several viewpoints, and in the complexity made possible by the research into historical sources and the interviews with last surviving witnesses.
