Description Vyškov benefited from its position on the north-south road (Amber Trail) under the control of the hillfort (then the castle) near Pustiměř. Before 1240 the Olomouc bishops acquired the surroundings and managed the town (since 1367) from the Melic castle. The city did not protect the walls in other cases, which does not amaze during the wars with the Prussians and Napoleon. The flourishing took care of Cardinal Dietrichstein and Charles of Lichtenstein-Castellcorn. In the new era suburbs, industry and army buildings were built.
