Description This paper presents a reflection of the term "Neue Sachlichkeit" in Czech music and music journalism of the interwar period. It is clear from the above examples that in the interwar period the "Neue Sachlichkeit" did not become the subject of a wider discussion. Although this term experienced its boom elsewhere, its use in our country was limited to designating stylistic solutions to specific works of German music of the 1920s and to distinguishing it from any analogous tendencies taking place in Czech music. In addition, the way in which the new principle was adopted speaks volumes about the character of domestic aesthetic modernity. In this paper, they are also critically assessed by ideas about national stereotypes related to Czech music.
