Description The paper explores the possibility of tracing specificities in the process of acquisition of nominal morphology in Italian L2 of learners with no writing skills in their mother tongue and with little or no schooling at their arrival in Italy, with respect to the general progression of learning varieties, as described in the reference literature. The survey makes use of a corpus of Italian L2 produced within the language and literacy courses of the School of Italian Language for Foreigners of the University of Palermo.
