Description Genetic algorithms are heuristic approaches that mimic the principles of evolutionary biology to find the optimal solution in a complex environment. The dynamics of these methods in conjunction with the high imitation capability of multiagent systems create a powerful computational paradigm that finds its use primarily in creative fields. This paper deals with the practical implementation of optimization methods for generating melodies and reveals the mechanisms of the selective process.
