Description Spanish and Latin American literature gained popularity among Czech readers mainly due to the genre of magical realism, which aroused general interest in the second half of the 20th century a which prepared the ground for other literary tendencies and authors coming from this language area. Nowadays, Spanish-language literature is gaining more and more space in Czech publishing houses, both in the form of re-editions of the "golden fund" and in the form of didcovering the contemporary authors.
