Description Today Serbian minority in Czechia stays at the edge of professional interest and presents itself – with only minor exceptions – not in the public. It stays hidden for the Czech majority. The source of the present article is empirical material collected in 2008–2019. Field research was carried out through the method of semistructured interviews. In total 61 interviews with Serbian respondents concerned a wide range of topics of everyday life, in which their ethnicity plays a role: personal and family life, contacts with relatives, intergenerational transmission and preservation of ethno-cultural traditions, acculturation, meetings and associations of Czech Serbians, their relation and attitude to other southern Slavs in Czechia and to the Czech majority, linguistic situation and religious and ethnic self-identification. The paper analyses and presents collected data on the current Serbian minority in Czechia and especially in Brno in following categories: private life of individual persons in the family and in the public space. Focusing on Czech Balkanians of all nations enables a comparison with other Balkan minorities in Czechia and the determination of both common and specific features.
