| Description | The study deals with public collections which took place after the death of the ‘Leader of the Nation‘ František Ladislav Rieger. Several funds and foundations were founded thanks to these collections. Special attention is paid to the ‘Rieger’s fund‘ founded by the Ústřední matice školská and to the ‘Rieger’s foundation for poor students of the future Czech university in Moravia‘ founded by the Czech National party. It is shown the purpose of this fund and foundation, differences between them, for example who were their main donors, and their next fate during the first half of the 20th century. |
