Description The paper is analyzing a grave stela with two Arabic commemorative inscriptions dedicated to two Arabs who died in Crete at the beginning of the 8th century C.E It is an exceptional find highly valuable for further historical interpretations connected to the Arab conquest of Crete. As far there are only these two inscriptions witnessing the physical presents of Arabs on the Early Byzantine Crete.
