Description The paper that was presented during the Czech-German conference dedicated to the Old Scandinavian literature and culture focuses on the level of agency of objects in the so-called Kullervo cycle in the Kalevala. It explains the behaviour of its protagonist as a result of their influence. It does not therefore interpret the main figure as a result of intentional inner choises, but it emphasizes the external motivational factors of his behaviour.
