| Description | The presentation deals with the comparison of request strategies and their internal and external modification devices in informal requests written by Czech secondary-school students and simulated spoken request by Czech university students with similar language proficiency level. Both groups exploited predominantly non-conventionally indirect requests, but secondary-school students preferred modification devices typical of Czech to a greater extent and showed a higher frequency of direct strategies. |
