Description The origin and development of Latin alphabet documented on the sporadic evidence of the preserved archaic Latin inscriptions and extant abecedaria. The alphabets used by by most of European and American nations nowadays are very similar to the alphabet used by Latins and Etruscans (as well as other peoples of ancient Italy) in the seventh century BCE.
