Description Distance learning has become an integral part of university life. The pandemic situation associated with COVID-19 has affected teachers, as well as their students. The PhD students’ perception of the distance learning is the most neglected area of interest. There is no national or foreign research linked to this area. Until now, students were only used to close contact with their instructors and classmates, they knew their peers personally and had not yet encountered such extensive distance learning. There was a need to analyze attitudes of commencing PhD students and their ability to cope with the distance learning. The main aim of the research is to ascertain PhD students’ perception of the distance learning during times of COVID-19.
