| Description | In my talk I examined the image of Japan in Czech game magazines of the 1990s. While today Japan is seen (and portrays itself) as a cool country, the image was different before Japanese popular culture became recognized worldwide. Analyzing articles of Czech game magazines from the 1990s I was able to demonstrate the slow shift in the image of Japan ranging from an early orientalistic view of "weird Japan" to a more accepting view of "different Japan". |
