Description Analytical and holistic cognitive style is currently one of the dominant theories of intercultural cognitive psychology. Highly variable measurements show that cognitive styles can manifest in a large number of perceptually simple but also cognitively complex tasks. However, despite the high popularity of the concept, there are still no methods that repeatedly and convincingly demonstrate sufficient psychometric properties of tests to measure cognitive style. In addition, many previous studies work with fundamental metrics, such as reaction times, quite inappropriately. In the workshop we will present six methods measuring cognitive style, which were prepared on the Hypothesis platform, namely three variations of Navon's hierarchical figures, one method based on the framed-lined test, another based on Witkin's test of hidden figures and the last method in the form of self -report questionnaire. The aim of the workshop will be to present and critically discuss the psychometric properties of the measurements performed on a sample of 384 participants, collected in two time waves. The main outcome of the workshop will be a critical discussion on the concept of cognitive style and methods of measuring it, as well as the formulation of proposals and recommendations of the Czech psychometric community on how to build similar methods or how to deal with them in research and professional practice.
