Description The chapter deals with the use of colours during the winter and spring door-to-door processions, the celebration of the end of Shrovetide, church processions in the countryside, kermesse or imperial feasts, harvest festivals and Christmas in the Brno region and Podhorácko. The more frequent reports from literature, chronicles (e.g. about ceremonial clothing, trees, flags, wreaths and animals) and questionnaires are supplemented by individual events recorded mostly in the daily press and preserved museum objects, especially from old collections (ceremonial masks, mannequins, trees, rods, gifts and badges of the Stark organisation). The festivities of the annual customary cycle are illustrated by colour photographs from recent field research.(Brno, Čebín, Ketkovice) or collection items in Czech memory institutions. In the text, space is given to the older customary layer (before the First World War) to understand the use of colour in earlier ceremonialism. The disappearance of the binding nature of youth rituals can be associated, among other things, with the disappearance of the village youth "stárek" organisation from the second decade of the 20th century at the latest. Several examples are given of the reconstruction of a customary object and its use in the original environment or scenic presentation.
