Description Comenius' image, created by Czech historiography and journalism on the threshold of the first Republic, was directly related to the "White Mountain Phenomenon" as one of the founding myths of modern Czech statehood. It was strengthened by the fact that in 1918 (the year of the establishment of Czechoslovakia) the third anniversary of the uprising was celebrated and in 1920 (the year of the issue of the constitution) it was commemorated third anniversary of the Battle of White Mountain. An immediate part of the "creation of the Czechoslovak Republic" therefore, a number of issued legal and executive measures - democratization and degermanisation, whose legal form was based on historical justification and with which it was combined with the motto "white mountain tanning". This was in line with Comenius' assessment Old Town Executions recorded in the History of the Severe Adversities of the Czech Lands and with its Theses on the temporary loss of Czech independence and on the future restitution of political and religious rights expressed in the “Kšaft umírající matky Jednoty bratrské”.
