| Description | Praguense Vilém Flusser, in the 40's found a refuge in Brazil in the face of the Nazi threat that was spreading across Europe on the eve of, and during, the Second World War. In the 1960s, the philosopher entered the country's intellectual life, publishing essays in newspapers and magazines and teaching at universities in Sao Paulo. His texts and speeches, often considered polemic, unshakably follow one fundamental direction: engagement against all kinds of oppression that a system can exert on a human being; his main instrument is dialogue which often goes to extremes in its defiant and provocative tone. |
