Description | The lecture analyzed the texts of Callimachus of Cyrene, one of the most exclusive poets of the Alexandrian Museum, who, according to his epigram (In AP 12, 43, 4), loathes everything general/folk. Despite this proclamation, elements of his hymns were gradually identified that were attractive both to Callimach's learned colleagues and to ordinary spectators of contemporary comedy. |
