| Description | Using an approach of analogy, this study compares the story Zabuksoval by the Russian novelist Vasily Makarovich Shukshin with the work of Jan Balaban from Ostrava. Shared characteristics are identified on many layers: The similar character types are introduced as well as their mutual relations (e.g., relationship between father and son; teacher as role model, authority, and friend simultaneously), overlapping values (respect for education, passion for literature), motives (capturing the moment using painting or photography). |
