| Description | In Basque, nominal case markers (such as the instrumental, locative or ablative) are used to mark different types of adverbial clauses (Hualde 2003). They attach to the clause-final complementizer and convey temporal or causal relations. The talk focuses on adverbial clauses headed by the relative/interrogative complementizer -en. Our goal is to understand why a given case marker marks a particular clause type (e.g., why INS marks reason clauses). |
