| Description | The seminar had two main topics: 1) facilitating non-native speakers' understanding of spoken Modern Greek, and 2) using metaphors and idioms in teaching Modern Greek. Both topics were presented by lecturers with a specialisation in Greek didactics (Viktoria Panagiotidou, Centre for the Greek Language; Ioannis Galantomos, University of Thessaly). In the second part, the participants exchanged their findings on the topics, the discussion focused on the translation of idioms into the mother tongues and the related problems. |
