Description The article proposes that the theater of the generation of Mexican playwrights who premiere their plays since the 90s of the 20th century is distinguished by a type of protagonist that connects with the classic figure of the “pelado”. Through the analysis of the play Más pequenos que el Guggenheim, by Alejandro Ricano, we study the way in which these insignificant beings provoke the audience’s laughter, as well as the implications of this laughter.
