Description Since 2015, the Communist Party of China has emphasized the need of the Sinicization of all religious groups in China. The request is part of the policy introduced by President Xi Jinping as part of his New China vision. The new ideological policy of the Sinicization of religion entails the necessity of religious groups to fully submit to the Party regime. This is not just an attempt to localize religious groups for the Chinese cultural context. On the contrary, in the current context, the notion of Sinicization has a political connotation relating to adherence to the dictates of the state.
