Description The area of the Polish-Slovak borderland, located near the Beskid pass over Czeremcha, in January 1915 became the arena of fierce battles between the tsarist and Austro-Hungarian troops. The culmination of the struggle was the offensive of the Habsburg army, which began on the 23rd January and whose aim was to liberate Przemyśl. Unfortunately, the attack was met with a counterattack by the enemy, as a result of which the Austro-Hungarian units were pushed into the Laborcza valley. The aim of our project was primarily to study the battlefield located on on the slopes of Kamień nad Jaśliska and an attempt at a multi-faceted analysis in which efforts were made combine not only archival and excavation data, but also e.g. memories of soldiers, trying to build the most complete picture of both the fights themselves and what happened to the battlefield after the end of hostilities
