Description Recently, loneliness has been talked about as a new form of pandemic. This phenomenon affects people of all ages, genders and places of residence and poses a high health risk. Research conducted among Czech seniors identified that up to 5% of respondents suffer from intense feelings of loneliness. Just over 70% said that they were not affected at all or only very rarely. Loneliness is compared to health burdens such as smoking, obesity, alcohol abuse or air pollution. Without exaggeration, loneliness can lead to reduced quality of life and premature death.
