Description The zoomorphic buckle pins from Kozojedy-Dřevíč and Kozojedy near Žlunice are metal-detector finds that belong to a group of zoomorphic prongs, which can be dated broadly to the 4th to 7th century. The finds appear in a large area from south-eastern Europe through central and southern Europe to France and Spain. The prong from Kozojedy-Dřevíč is unique in its zoomorphic shape (the end of the pin resembles an animal's head - probably a pig). The prong from Kozojedy near Žlunice is simpler in shape, yet it also shows zoomorphic elements such as jaws and eyes. Both objects were cast from bronze and due to the unusual attachment to the axis of the buckle frame with an iron eye, they represent rare finds not only in the Bohemia but also in other parts of Europe.
