Description | The paper presents successful language learning strategies applied by deaf and hard of hearing learners when learning English as a foreign language. First the specifics of the group of learners are presented including the difficulties the learners often face and their potential sources. Second the research investigations that were the sources of the data are shortly presented. Finally the individual strategies identified in the learners are presented. The paper attempts to adopt a positive view of foreign language learning of the group of learners who are often seen as unsuccessful langauge learners. |
