| Description | The lecture will focus on alcohol consumption in the armed forces across history, as well as some selected changes in consumer behaviour in the context of war. Special emphasis will then be placed on a drink that has accompanied mankind since antiquity, liquid bread, the hub of the gods, the poor and the Unionist soldier - beer. The lecture is part of the Open Beer series as part of the Cultural History of Beer project. |
