| Description | The author of the present contribution as an introduction to the thematic body of studies Slavonic Literatures – History and Theory (Conceptions, Periodization, Synthesis) deals with specific features of the paradigm and trajectory of literary currents in Slavonic literatures, and at their background with the formation and the structures of naturalism or the poetics close to or permeating with it in Slavonic literatures. And especially in Russian 19th-century and the beginning of the 20th-century literature. He manifests the etymology of the term and its various evolutionary stages and, moreover, the ways how the identification of different literary currents in the framework of national literatures, the currents which have no names or are subsumed under other phenomena and „labels“.; in other words, each national literature has its own evolutionary paradigm which only partially resembles the paradigms of other national literatures. Naturalism as an undercurrent goes through world literature, and in Russia plays the key role in the development of realism in its widest sense; therefore it does not represent just the final stage of realism and the introduction to modernism, but an integral part of realism as a literary current, its intrinsic substance and a shadow companion to its evolution. |
