Description The aim of this paper is to provide insight into the decision-making process of school management in the recruitment of teachers. In-depth qualitative survey interviews were conducted in the fall of 2022 with the leadership of six schools that hired novice teachers for the 2022/2023 school year. In this paper, I declare, based on the statements of the school leadership, why these teachers were recruited, the process the leadership took, and what they expect from these teachers. The research showed that school management preferred young candidates, especially when they were recent teacher graduates. In making decisions about their recruitment, school managements gave priority to personal sympathies and feelings rather than objective indicators
