Description The presented paper has shown that while Otto of Freising was forced to rectify his stereotypical image of Muslims after his participation in the Second Crusade, the so-called Ansbert had to react on the disaster of Barbarossa's death during the Third Crusade and used the image of Muslims to show Barbarossa as an ideal crusader despite his premature death.
