Description Brno has always been one of the centres of the Czech lands, which was also reflected in the rapid development of cinema here - the first permanent cinema opened as early as 1907. In the years that followed, several dozen cinemas were built in different parts of the city, each maintaining its own specific features, depending on the person of the operator or the location. This paper will present the example of Brno to show how the above-mentioned specification fitted into the general tendencies of the development of the cinema network in the Czech Republic.
