Citation
Description The paper uncovers the complicities of Czech (Czechoslovak) design in the colonial project by 1. examining everyday objects like fashion, furnishing and ceramics which commodified and normalised racial stereotypes. 2. It also explores design objects like beads, shoes, and the fez made in Czechoslovakia for export that benefited from trading relationships established by colonial powers. It therefore asks about the awareness about the questions of race, coloniality and representation in the context of Czechoslovak design
