Description The article examines the work of the poet Valery Bryusov. The theme of the development of culture in Bryusov's works is studied based on his scientific and journalistic works, diaries, memoirs, poems, novels, and short stories by the author. Valery Bryusov repeatedly raised the topic of the development of human culture. While working on the anthology «Literature of Armenia», Bryusov became interested in the history of the development of human thought and began work on the articles «Teachers of Teach-ers», which were devoted to studying the oldest cultures of mankind. Bryusov also used the articles to give lectures at the university, where Bryusov was invited as a lecturer. Bryusov believed that European culture originated from the culture of Antiquity, and the culture of Antiquity, in turn, was inspired by older cultures, which were strongly influenced by the ancient culture of mankind.
