Description The presentation was focused on the concept of theathergraph, multi-media theatre form developed by director Emil František Burian with scenographer Miroslav Kouřil. Theatergraph was based on a combination of projections of film and photos, live action and music / sound effects. Main principle of composition was montage of details / fragments in contrast. This creative approach used to be interpreted as a way of establishing Burian (as director and in fact almost “total” author of his performances) as formative authorial subject of performances. The paper challenged this modernist interpretation by showing inner tension and dynamism of performance structure, which opens up question of reading Burian approach of in perspective of post-dramatic theatre poetics.
