Description This chapter of the publication focuses on the role of the public library in developing literacy, information literacy and reading skills in students, primarily in the 4th grade of elementary school. The age category of the pupils is determined by the PIRLS research, which is presented in the published chapter. The chapter presents and mirrors the research findings in the context of the activities of public libraries and teaching librarians as actors in the development of pupils' literacy skills.
