Description In the Carpathians, the war reached south, to the territory of the Kingdom of Hungary, where in the winter of 1914/15 in the mountains, the troops of the Central Powers tried to prevent Russian troops from reaching the lowlands. Particularly in the spring of 1915, fierce clashes took place here, leaving many monuments and cemeteries behind. The team from Masaryk University, working not only with local historians, has started archaeological research in several different locations, where they are trying to obtain information, especially about what no one has written down.
