| Description | The aim of the paper Polish Theatre in the Context of Propaganda is to point out that this term has not yet disappeared from Polish theatre, it is present in it, but it has only slightly transformed from its traditional closely connected connotation (propaganda - political instrument) to a more flat one (propaganda - social tendency). The term permeated Polish theatrical poetics and became an integral part of aggressive and uncompromising art. I want to highlight how the term "propaganda" was projected and developed in Polish theatre through three theatre productions/texts Brygada szlifierza Karhana (written by Vasek Káňa, directed by the collective, 1949), Dziady (written by Adam Mickiewicz, directed by Kazimierz Dejmek, 1968) and Jadłonomia (written by Jan Czapliński, directed by Maciej Podstawny, 2022). |
