Description | While the western part of the Roman Empire faced many difficulties in the 4th and 5th century, the senatorial social class maintained a priviliged position in roman society. With the vast resources at their disposal, the senatorial aristocracy could prove to be valuable allies in the policy of the emperors whose actual power seemed to be dwindling. The speech will address the evidence of a growing cooperation between the two parties and how it could affect the Late Roman Empire in a broader sense. |
