| Description | War elephants played an important role in the background of military operations, especially in the Hellenistic period, when they were used far from their natural environment. The aim of the interview in the historical podcast Včera, dnes a zítra was to analyze what it was used for, what were their bright and dark sides on the battlefield, how these dark sides could be eliminated and how, on the contrary, they could be used to defeat them. Attention was also paid to the techniques of capturing and training elephants, and to important figures of the ancient world who actively used elephants or faced them on the battlefield. |
